Boryung has got the most approvals for clinical trials from KFDA

Boryung Co., Ltd. has got the most approvals for clinical trials among the domestic drugmakers in the first half of 2009.

According to the Korea Food and Drug Administration(KFDA)'s announcement on 16 July, It is Boryung Co., Ltd. that has got the most approvals for clinical trials(7), and Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and LG life sciences Ltd. have got 6 and 4 approvals, respectively.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical, Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Pacificpharma Corp. and Chong Kun Dang Pharm have obtained 2 approvals, respectively.

Among the multinational drugmakers, Pfizer Korea Inc. has got the most approvals for clinical trials(10), followed by Quintiles Transnational Korea Corp.(8), Bayer Korea Litd.(8), Wyeth Korea(7), BMS Pharmaceutical Korea Litd.(6) and GlaxoSmithKline Korea(4).

The total number of approved clinical trials by KFDA is 169 in the first half of 2009, and out of them 87 were obtained by the domestic drugmakers.<헬스코리아뉴스>
