The high-ranked Korean drug makers' amount of drug export has highly increased in the first quarter of 2009.
The top 5 Korean drug makers(Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Hanmi Pharm. Co., Ltd., Yuhan Corporation, Korea Green Cross and LG Life Sciences Ltd.) have marked the average increase rate of amount of export of 56% in the first quarter of this year.
Dong-A has recorded the highest increase rate(84.9%) compared with the same period of last year, followed by Hanmi(59.3%), LG Life Sciences(56%), Yuhan(50.2%) and Korea Green Cross(48.2%).
While Dong-A's export of the OTC has decreased, its export of the ETC has increased more than 2 times(8.5 billion won) compared with the same period of last year(3.9 billion won). LG Life Sciences Ltd. has showed about 60% increase of amount of export of growth hormone drug, hypertension drug and etc.
In the general, the relative improtance of amount of drug export has higly increased in the total sales of the top 5 Korean drug makers.
As for the weight of account of export of LG Life Sciences, it has increased from 36.3% in the first quarter of 2008 to 45% in the first quarter of 2009.
In case of Hanmi and Yuhan, the weight of account of export marked more than 15% (15.3% and 16.0% respectively).<헬스코리아뉴스>
